The Department of Education recently recognized fourteen schools in Zambales for becoming full-fledged Sped Centers. San Felipe Elementary School-West is among those that have been given the recommendation to continue the education program for children with disabilities.

San Felipe Elementary School-West has been accepting students with disabilities or better known as Learners with Special Needs or Persons with Disabilities for ten years, through the effort of Ma’am Liahona M. Aguba, the number of students attending the school continues to increase. They continue to accept children with Autism, ADHD, Hearing Impaired, Visually Impaired, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities. The Program they offer is not only focused on academics, it also pays attention to skills such as Livelihood, Enrichment, Care, and Pre-Vocational that prepare students for their possible jobs. Learners with Special Education Needs are also allowed to be assessed for free by a Neuro-Developmental Pediatrician using their funds.

San Felipe Elementary-School West is Inclusive Education because LWDs are given the opportunity to be mixed in the Regular Setting if they are ready. At the same time, 7 LWDs were admitted to the Secondary School which was accepted by the San Rafael Technical-Vocational Highschool which is also in the said town. This program will continue to be offered to you by San Felipe Elementary School-West for equal opportunities for children.
